The film is based on one of the stories titled, “The Railway Aunty” by Mohan Sikka from the book “Delhi Noir.” Kamal is from Kolkata and began his career in 2011 with the movie “Sugar baby.” He never wanted to pursue acting as a career and didn’t have any formal training but has been acting in theatre for many years now. He mostly learned the best from his school days from his six years of theatre and was uplifted by various teachers. Kamal joined IBN live readers for interaction on his movie “B.A Pass.” In an interview, he talks about how he is not afraid of being typecast.

He chose the script because it appeared to be a promising project. He proudly says, “All the appreciation & accolades the film received matters the most to him.” He received the “Best Actor Award” in the Indian Competition section at the 2012 Osian’s Festival of Asian & Arab Cinema.

Shadab also won the best debut actor award for BA Pass at the 2012 Osian’s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema, and this film also won the best film award in the ‘Indian competition’ section. In one of his interviews, he said that he had been acting in a theater for many years. He told that he was never afraid of being typecast. He just needs to make sure that he didn’t act like Mukesh in all his movies. Shadab has done his schooling in Gwalior and has been living in Kolkata for a few years.
