Om Prakash was an Indian character actor who never played any stereotype character in films and transformed him into a versatile actor and won the appreciation of masses and critics. He has acted with all top actors and acclaimed directors. He made his name in comedy and drunkard roles too. He also became the producer, director, and writer. Om Prakash was born on December 19, 1919, in Jammu.

He was married to Prabha but had no children. He was always a very cheerful person in his personal life and had a circle of friends with whom he used to chat and gossip. For this purpose, he had taken an office in Roop Tara Studios in Mumbai too. But later as he was not feeling well, he shifted his office to suburbs of Mumbai.

He died at the age of 79 due to a heart attack on February 21, 1998.
