Gautam Bharadwaj

Born in 1965, popularly known for his contribution to OASIS, Gautam was initially a hot-headed youngster. Being an impulsive youngster, he dropped out of college as he felt that studies bored him. He started out as a copywriter with ad agency Trikaya Grey in the 1980s but owing to disputes with his boss he left his job. Peter Monteiro. Gautam feels that working for the industry was a bonus for him since he met his wife Arpana Bharadwaj as a member of the production team. He added that Doordarshan lost out to other channels as it was unable to uplift its broadcasting quality and mainly because it was focused on backing the government agenda. At a recent event,

Gautam muses that acting in Fauji was a phenomenal experience for him. He further feels that Doordarshan marked the birth of entertainment in India. When asked as to why he quit his job he laughs and says that he was constantly irritated by the fact that an unknown guy Shah Rukh sidelined him constantly. As a result of this, at 24, he was married and left without a job or a college degree. But that was all from a previous life. Today , all he cares about is securing a pension scheme for the people aged 60.His outfit Invest India Micro Pension Services is present in nine states has 200000 workers from unorganized sectors who have signed up for pension schemes. Starting from 2000, Bharadwaj worked on the OASIS project for securing the economy of the old age social groups.

He met U.K.Sinha, who was equally passionate as him about pension for the poor.Together they set up the IIMPS to promote micro pensions. The IIMPS has been recognized as the key pension policy for Rajasthan’s Vishwakarma Micro Pension Scheme.It is a reflection of Gautam’s passion for financial literacy.
