Puri Jagannadh wears many feathers to his cap including production, direction and screenplay writing. His main area of interest is Telugu films. He has received Nandi awards thrice in his career spanning more than a decade. 

During the year 2004, Jagannadh ventured into Bollywood with the flick, Shart: The Challenge. This film bombed at the box office. Bbuddah..Hoga Terra Baap is his directorial venture of 2011 and it has the credit of being recorded in Oscar library. Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Vaisho Academy are his production ventures. Puri Sangeet is the music company organized by Jagannadh.

Jagannadh received the Nandi Award for his flick Pokiri. This film also fetched him the Best Director Filmfare Award during the year 2006. This film ran for over 500 days, which is indeed a great feat. It was remade into Tamil and Hindi too, and it was successful in these languages. Jagannadh also tried his luck in Kannada film industry and the flicks that he directed here include, Yuvaruvaraja and Appu. Jagannadh had also succumbed to depression once, but later he took it in his stride and emerged a wise person.
