Bosco Martis

Born on 27 November 1974, Bosco Martis has completed his schooling from St. Joseph’s School, Mumbai and graduated from Mithibai College, Mumbai. Annual Day events at school became the breeding ground Bosco’s budding dance fever where he used to watch his football buddy, now his counterpart –Caesar performs and gets inspired by him.

Soon, by trying to copy him and doing some homework, Bosco began dancing within the confined walls of his house. He dodged the options of pursuing football or becoming a flight purser to settle finally on his passion for being his career. Though it is hard to believe, Bosco never had any formal dance training whatsoever and claims to have developed his talent by watching international stars.

“It was all by visual reference. I used to watch Prannoy Roy’s World This Week that would come on TV. It used to air a three-minute segment on International dance. While growing up, I also watched a lot of international stars perform at the Grammy awards”, says Bosco. After college fests, it was time for the real world, and the duo first bagged a music video of Rageshwari’s hit song ‘Oye Shaava”. Offers came in after this including one to choreograph Daler Mehendi’s ‘Ho Gayi Teri Balle Balle’.

The duo has also carved a niche for itself in Hollywood by showcasing their work in Tarsem Singh’s movie title ‘The Fall’. In 2007, Bosco- Caesar started the Bosco-Caesar Dance Company in Dubai with a strong desire to inculcate what they know in the common people. However, the venture didn’t work out as expected and the company shifted to Mumbai.

Today, it operates in Kolkata and Brampton, Scarborough as well. Apart from this, the duo also conducts dance workshops overseas which go by the name ‘Hook-up with Bosco-Caesar’. In 2015, Bosco announced his debut as a director for an untitled film. The film is supposed to revolve around a circus and is sure to sign some big faces of Bollywood.
