Jyoti Deshpande is a powerful businesswoman who is a producer as well as a distributor in the Bollywood industry. Jyoti was born on 1972 and brought up in Mumbai, India. When she was six months old, she got pneumonia and recovered as soon as possible. One fine day, she was unable to crawl. When the family doctor checked, it was only then her parents got to know that her left leg is affected by Polio. She always remained positive in spite of this. She did her schooling from Seth Chunilal Damodardas Barfiwala High School and was the head girl of the school. Later, she took a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce & Economics and graduated from the famous Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.

While she was in college, she gave tuitions to students from second to twelfth standard to collect money for her MBA. In 1993, she did her MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai University. She is a perfect example of beauty with brains. After completing her MBA, she got a job in Mindshare Media which is a UK based company. She worked there as a senior consultant. Then she worked for the Zee Network as the Sales & Marketing Head. After working for Zee, she joined James Walter Thompson, an advertising company.

She had18 years media industry experience before joining Eros. Between 1999 and 2001, she was part of the senior management team that founded B4U Television Network. In 2001, Jyoti started working for Eros International. She was the director of the commercial department managing business strategies and operations. From 2010 to May 27, 2011, she served as an Executive Director of Eros International Media Limited. She also served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Eros Media Ltd. She took the overall responsibility taking the company to new frontiers of success. In 2011, she got married to Sanjay Deshpande, her college heartthrob. In the same year, she was the producer of the movie, “Desi Boyz.” The movie was one of the directorial ventures of Rohit Dhawan. The film stars cast were Akshay Kumar, Chitrangada Singh, John Abraham, and the gorgeous, and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Along with them, Sanjay Dutt features in a cameo too. In India, the movie’s net gross was around 45,92,00,000. Worldwide, the net gross amounted to 80,43,60,000 .

By June 22, 2015 she was Managing Director as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Eros International Plc. She has been a part of numerous organizations as a board member. She was a board member of Ayngaran International, Big Screen Entertainment Group, Eros International Media Ltd, Eros Music Publishing Ltd, Eros Network Ltd and likewise. She is also the director at Mini Major Studios Private Limited. In 2015, Jyoti appeared in the lists of Most Powerful Women in Business by Fortune India and Business Today. It is a remarkable recognition for her personal conquest over adversity and her immense contribution to Eros’s dominant market share. Jyoti speaks at industry forums consistently and is a valuable member of the British Film Institute. She believes that tomorrow is another day, another opportunity to get better. Jyoti's passion was to take consumers digital all the way. With Eros Now, she desires to make latest films and other information that is got for free on the web and on mobiles. Eros Now has over 19 million registered users signed up at the time of its pre-launch phase. In 2016, she also produced films like White and Chaar Sahibzaade 2: Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur. Also, she is looking forward to working on sequels like Vicky Donor-2, Badlapur-2, etc. Eros currently hosts the largest library. A library of not only films but also premium television shows, audio tracks, and music videos. She has successfully achieved her targets by crossing 1.32 million paid subscribers and hopes to surpass the renewed target of 2 million paid subscribers by the end of fiscal '17.
