David S. Goyer is a movie director, screenwriter, producer, novelist, and comic book writer. His works as a screenwriter include The Dark Knight Trilogy, Blade Trilogy, Dark City, and Man of Steel, etc. He was the director of four feature films like Blade: Trinity, Zig Zag Story soon >> Read More... , The Unborn, The Invisible. He co-wrote many video games like Call of Duty: Black Ops, along with its sequel named Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He was given a Saturn Award for Best Writing for the superhero film named Batman Begins in the year 2005. He got a nomination for the American neo-noir science fiction film named Dark City in the year 1998. He was also nominated for four best science fiction of fantasy works award named Hugo Award. He was born in a city named Ann Arbor in the U.S. State of Michigan, with his brother, and were brought up by their mother. He is associated with the Jews on the side of his mother, and as a part of it, he studied at the Hebrew School. He is recognized as an alumnus of the school named Huron High School, and the University named the University of Southern California, completing his graduation in the year 1988 from the School of Cinema-Television. He was a student of Nelson Gidding, the famous screenwriter at the USC and very often went back to his class to attend as a guest speaker.

He sold out Death Warrant, his first screenplay in the year 1989. He bought an Isuzu Trooper with his first paycheck, which was unfortunately stolen on the same night when he brought it home. Goyer wrote and co-wrote many comic book based screenplays, which include Superman, Batman, Blade, and Ghost Rider. He wrote the Justice Society of America, which is title based on DC Comics, debuted with the title JSA in the year 1999. He also co-created a science fiction TV series named FlashForward, alongside Brannon Braga, which was premiered in the year 2009 on ABC. In the year 2011, he wrote The Incident, a short story in which the U.S. citizenship has been renounced by Superman. He worked on three upcoming projects along with Legendary Pictures. He has co-written the scripts of The Dark Knight Rises in the year 2012, and Man of Steel in the year 2013. He also did a one-step-4-week rewriting work for Godzilla reboot. He published his first novel for the first time in the year 2011 named Heaven's Shadow, which was co-written for Ace/Penguin by Michael Cassutt.

In the year 2013, he delivered a lecture on screenwriting as a part of the BAFTA and BFI Screenwriters' Lecture Series. He was the producer of the horror film named The Forest, which was directed by Jason Zada. In the same year, he announced his work on the comic book named The Sandman with Joseph Gordon. By the year 2014, he earned enough reputation as a superhero genre's veteran.
