Liam was born to Leonie, who was an English teacher, and a social-services counselor, Craig Hemsworth. He has two older brothers namely: Chris and Luke Hemsworth, who are also actors. He moved to Phillip Island along with his family when he was eight-year-old. Phillip is an Australian island. Liam spends most of his time there surfing along with his brothers. Liam moved to The United States in 2009 to pursue his career. There he stayed with his brothers in a guest house but, later on, rented their apartment.
