Simon Cowell

Anyone who watches America's Got Talent is no stranger to Simon Cowell. His full name is Simon Phillip Cowell. Simon is a philanthropist, reality show judge, entrepreneur, and producer. He was born in Lambeth, London, England, on October 7, 1979.

However, Simon grew up in Elstree, Hertfordshire. Julie Brett his mother was a socialite and ballet dancer while Eric Selig Phillip Cowell his father was an executive of the music industry, estate agent, and property developer.

He has four siblings. Simon took education from Radlett Preparatory School, Windsor Technical College, and Dover College. After passing out from Windsor he did odd jobs but couldn't  get along with his colleagues. Simon's dad helped him bag an employment in EMI Music Publishing's mail room. When Simon failed to get an advancement for himself he left but returned once again.

Simon founded Fanfare Records under which he would sell videos and audios. He struggled until the release of Sinitta's song named So Macho . However, the company had to be shut down. He took up the job of an A&R consultant at BMG.

S​imon again tried to revive his career in music and created novelty records. He persuaded Jerome Flynn and Robson Green to sign his contract and sing Unchained Melody for him. It proved to be a landmark moment for Simon since Unchained Melody broke several records.

In 2001, he got the offer to judge Pop Idol. Simultaneously, Simon judged American Idol. His stint became famous and soon he became a permanent member of the judging panel of several reality shows. Besides examining he has also been a part of several TV shows.

Simon has lent his voice to a guest character in The Simpsons and has also done a cameo in Scary Movie 3. Simon finances Together for Short Lives a charity that works for children who are suffering from life-threatening or incurable diseases.

He is also a PETA supporter and strongly opposed animal cruelty. In 2013, Simon participated in a fund-raising event to support the Israeli Defense Forces. Simon was the co-owner of Royal Ascot Racing Club. He also gave a speech at the Concert for Diana.

He got engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy a make-up artist. However, it didn't transpire into anything and the romance fizzled out. In 2013, he started seeing Lauren Silverman while she was married to Andrew Silverman. She gave birth to his child on February 14, 2014.

Simon owns an array of cars like Rolls Royce, Smart Car, Jaguar E-Type Eagle Speedster, Ford Bronco, and Bentley Azure. Times magazine had named him in their list of 100 most influential people in the world in the year of 2004 and 2010.
