Gavin Polone pursued his education at the University of California at Berkeley. Later on, Polone worked as a real estate consultant and also applied to the United State Central Intelligence Agency. The year of 1985 saw Polone as an assistant at the talent agency, ICM Partners. Later on, Polone left ICM to join United Talent Agencies. This was followed by him founding his own production company to manage film and television artists. The year of 1998 saw Polone start his career as an executive producer with the John Irvin-directed war TV movie, When Trumpets Fade. Polone started financing television shows in the millennium year starting with Larry David’s improvisational comedy show, Curb Your Enthusiasm. The series fetched Polone 6 nominations for a “Primetime Emmy Award for an Outstanding Comedy Series.” Polone also served as an executive producer for seven years on the Amy Sherman-Palladino’s creation, Gilmore Girls. The millennium decade also saw Polone finance various television shows, such as the David Koepp-directed, ‘Hack’, April Blair’s comedy, Jane by Design, the Fox Television-produced, ‘Thief’, and Betsy Thomas’s sitcom, My Boys.

Polone is the owner of the restaurant, Waffle, in Hollywood, and is a columnist with the New York Times. Polone also houses a number of service dogs.
