David Parfitt is a versatile film actor and producer. He was born on July 8, 1958, in Sunderland, England. In 1999, he earned the Honorary Doctorate of Arts at the University of Sunderland. He is known for his portrayal as Peter Harrison on ITV’s British sitcom, “…And Mother Makes Three” in 1971. He later played as Peter Redway in the sitcom’s sequel in 1974. David also played as Tim Beecham in The Archers on BBC Radio 4. He came from a theatrical family, so it became natural or him to go to the theater since he confessed that he did badly at school. David studied at the Barbara Speake Stage School in London.

He started his career on stage in the year 1969, through Sunderland Empire Theatre Society. His first job was for Kellogs Frosties’ commercial, followed by James Joyce’ Exiles. In the late 1980s, he stopped acting and focus on production. Since then, he has been an independent producer and was happily married to Liz Partiff. They have three children namely Max, Thomas, and Bill. From 2008 to 2010, he became the Chairman of BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television). In the year 2000, David established Trademark Films, along with the other members of his production team. The production house’ first film venture was entitled Capture the Castle, which was adapted in Dodie Smith’s novel. This was followed by Chasing Liberty, A Bunch of Amateurs, and My Week with Marilyn. Trademark Films also produced the 5-part TV series, Parade’s End, which later co-produced Mammoth Screen. In 2013, it also produced Andy de Emmony’s The Wipers Times.
