Jason Bateman, born on 14th of January, 1969, is a director, producer and a critically acclaimed actor who rose to fame from very early age. He started his career with a cereal TV commercial for Golden Grahams in 1980. After that, Bateman got a role in a sitcom named Little House on the Prairie. He worked on another TV show Silver Spoons from 1982 to 1984. In 1984, he appeared in many small roles on TV shows like Knight Rider. In the same year, he also worked in a lead role on a short TV series, It's Your Move for a year.

In 1987, he was seen on Win, Lose or Draw, in their inaugural week. In mid-80's, he earned the status of a teen idol. And this happened because of his role as David Hogan on The Hogan Family (Valerie). For this role, he was critically acclaimed, and also became the youngest director at the age of 18, as he directed three of the episodes of The Hogan Family. He was on the show, till it ran its course. After this show, in 1987, he landed his first movie role, in Teen Wolf Too, although it was a box-office failure. After that he was seen in some more movies, Moving Target (1988), Necessary Roughness (1991), Breaking the Rules (1992) along with acting on some short, one season TV series as well, Simon, George, and Leo, Some Of My Best Friends and Chicago Sons. The director inside of him tried to come out once again, as he directed one of the episodes of Two Of a Kind in 1999.

In 2002, he was seen in the movie The Sweetest Thing. He worked hard in many films, but what gave him high recognition and fame were a comedy series, Arrested Development in 2002. The series was very well known and loved by critics as well, but couldn't ever receive high ratings, and was forced to shut down in 2006. This show brought Bateman many awards. The best being, Golden Globe for Best Actor in a television series Musical or Comedy. In 2005, he was also on the nomination of Emmy Award, for the same comedy series. The show was revived again in 2013, on viewers' request. He appeared in many blockbuster movies with many big stars.
