Robert John Odenkirk (born October 22, 1962) is an American entertainer, joke artist, writer, director, and maker. He is most famous for his work as lawyer Saul Goodman on the AMC crime show series Breaking Bad and its twist-off Better Call Saul, for which he got four nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He is additionally known for the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David, which he co-made and featured in with David Cross. 

Odenkirk was born in Berwyn, Illinois, and raised in Naperville. He is one of seven children of Walter Odenkirk and Barbara Odenkirk. His father worked in the printing industry. Odenkirk attended Naperville North High School and graduated at 16. He went to DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. After a year, he went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, then moved to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, "sharpening his sketch-composing and execution abilities with live shows on the two schools' radio stations." He debuted as a radio jockey for WIDB, the non-broadcast college station at SIU. At WIDB, he made a late-night (12 am to 4 am) radio satire show called The Prime Time Special. 

From the 1980s to the 1990s, Odenkirk hosted TV shows Saturday Night Live and The Ben Stiller Show, winning Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1989 and 1993. He worked for Late Night with Conan O'Brien and acted as Agent Stevie Grant in The Larry Sanders Show. In the mid-2000s, Odenkirk found the satire duo Tim and Eric and delivered their TV series Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! He directed three films, Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003), Let's Go to Prison (2006), and The Brothers Solomon (2007). Robert was the chief maker of the sketch satire show The Birthday Boys. In 2015, he and David Cross reunited for Mr. Show cast, W/Bob, and David on Netflix. Odenkirk co-composed, created, and featured in the Netflix original film Girlfriend's Day in 2017.

In 2021, Odenkirk featured in the film Nobody. 

Odenkirk featured in various TV programs and a few movies. In 2003, Odenkirk directed Melvin Goes to Dinner and played the part of Keith. The film got positive reviews and won the Audience Award at the SXSW Film and Music Festival.

In 2004, Odenkirk joined Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. He helped Tim and Eric with the improvement of their second series, Tim and Eric Awesome Show. Everybody Loves Raymond, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, NewsRadio, Just Shoot Me!, Joey, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, Entourage, Weeds, and How I Met Your Mother are some of his notable works.
