Mangala Gowri Maduve, which was originally aired as Putta Gowri Maduve, is an Indian Kannada language television drama serial, which is broadcasted on Colors Kannada and is directed by Ramji. It is the remake of Colors TV's famous Hindi drama serial, ‘Balika Vadhu’. Having premiered on 12th March 2012, it is the longest-running Kannada drama till now, with over 2268 episodes having been telecasted(as of 25th March 2020).

In 2018, after both of them quit, Kavya Shree and Gagan Chinappa became the main leads, and hence, the series was renamed to Mangala Gowri Maduve in April 2019.

It is a social drama that revolves around the life of an eight-year-old girl, who is forced to marry a boy of the same age. While the series tackles the archaic tradition of child marriage, it also traces the little girl's journey to adulthood. What presents is a coming-of-age story of a young bride who adapts to the traditions and customs of her in-laws, but later becomes a voice against orthodox rituals.

The series started with the journey of the eight-year-old Putta Gowri, who was forced to marry a boy named Mahesh of the same age as her. Her life turned upside down as she tried her best to adjust to the traditions and customs of her in-laws. The story then advanced to her adulthood, where she raises her voice against orthodox rituals.

Mahesh becomes a doctor and falls for his fellow doctor, Hima. Her father and her father's sister plot against Putta Gowri. They trick her to get Mahesh and Hima married. It takes time for Mahesh to realize that his heart has a place only reserved for Gowri, and no one can replace her. Mahesh finally reunites with Putta Gowri towards the end of the serial. At the end of the serial, it is also shown that Hima's father is repenting for ruining his own daughter's life.

The renamed series title focuses on the life of Mangala Gowri and Rajeev, Mangala Gowri being the niece of Mahesh and the great-granddaughter of Rajeshwari aka Ajjamma. She is rebellious, but unexpectedly marries an IPS officer named Rajeev. That is where the serial currently leaves us, and this interesting plotline is what enables the serial to have its viewers hooked for such a huge number of episodes.
