The plot revolves around Muskan and her tough life for getting an existence in the world based on the fact that she is a daughter of a sex worker.

Her mother, Arti does whatever it takes to protect her from the world and even hides her out in a box for protecting her from the world of Meena Bazar, where girls are ill-treated. The production firstly named the show as “Tawaif,” and afterward renamed it as “Meena Bazar.” After many discussions, the name “Muskaan” was given to the show. The first episode of Muskaan was aired on 29th May 2018.

The story centers around a young girl's hidden feelings, her mother's efforts to provide her with a bright future, and their warm relationship as mother and daughter.
