Motu Patlu is a TV series which is produced by Cosmos-Maya. It is redesigned from the classic comic strip on Lot Pot. The original version of Hindi was aired on 16 October 2012, with the first episode being "John Banega Don". It mainly throws light on two friends, Motu and Patlu, who lives in the fictional city, Furfuri Nagar.
But later the series was made locally, and it was dubbed into regional languages too like Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Malayalam, etc. The director of the series is Ronojoy Chakraborty, and the theme music is given by
Deepa Sahi and Anish JS Mehta are producers of the series.
Some of the episodes of the series such as 'King of Kings,' 'Motu Patlu Kungfu King Returns, 'Motu Patlu and Invisible Plane, 'Motu Patlu in Wonderland', 'Motu Patlu in Alien World, 'Motu Patlu Aur Khazaane Ki Race, 'Motu Patlu In Carnival Island' etc. were dubbed in Telugu and became highly popular in Andhra and Telangana. Nickelodeon which had found itself catapulted on top of the list of highest-rated channels in the kid's segment had showcased shows such as Motu Patlu, Shiva etc.
It is said that Nickelodeon has invested around 30 - 50 lakhs for each episode and had also, created libraries that span 200 to 300 videos of local content. This animation flick based on the popular cartoon series brings out a new message with every story and has a huge fan following among kids, that the makers of the series are planning to make it a first full-length 3D feature in animation. The show received a new height when Motu Patlu's action-packed adventure got mixed with a diet of samosas.
