Zee Telugu is a cable based television channel which is owned by one of the largest and most popular broadcasting networks of India, Zee Network, which is further a part of the Essel Group. Gold Rush has already had one season many years before which was hosted by UdayaBhanu. The show has been re-launched due to populardemand. However, the anchor of this season of the show has been changed, and the game plan has also been modified.

The first episode of the show was launched on 10th April 2017. The show has already completed 88 episodes and is still in the running. The latest episode was aired on 21st July 2017. The show airs from Monday to Saturday at 12:00 p.m. IST. Gold Rush is an all-female reality game show. This is the first time that a game show of such large scale has been made only for female participants. Unlike other game shows, this show does not target only the film and television actors. The show has female celebrities from different walks of life coming to the show. Anchors of other shows, dubbing artistes, small scale actors, etc., participate in this show. This unique game show has fun games for participants who compete against each other to win gold coins.

Each episode has three female participants. They go through four or five rounds of fun and interesting games, battling each other for the winning spot. In the first round, they are given lines from Telugu movie songs with words missing in between. They have to identify those words and complete the song. In the second round, the participants are given the names of a combination of three actors. They have to tell the name of the movie in which all these three actors were cast together. In the third round, two of the three participants are given headphones to cover their ears so they cannot hear anything.

The other participant is given a phrase by the anchor which she has to say, and the other participants have to guess the phrase by reading her lips. No action is allowed. The fourth round is a fun round, where the participants have to blow a balloon to its maximum limit without bursting it. The winner after each round gets some gold coins. The highest coin collector wins the show. There is also a final round, which is a bonus round. In this round, the anchor and the winner go together in the backstage and set a drop box in one of the three rooms numbered from one to three.

The other participants cannot see this. Then they come out and ask the other two contestants to guess the room in which the box is. If anyone is able to take the right guess, she gets the coins that are put inside the box. This round is like a lucky dip. The show also has additional questions for the audience so that they can win some gold sitting home. The show is anchored by Telugu anchor Anusaya. She is a very talented television presenter and also makes the show fun and exciting by asking for impromptu performances from the participants. She also has a very good sense of humor and great comic timing.
