Owing to his time spent away from India and its culture, Sanjay grew up spoilt and had a disdain for anything that had to do with India. With this thought, he decides to find a suitable match for him and get him settled into a married life. Finding a bride proves to be a difficult task however given sluggish and arrogant nature. He comes across Nandhini in the course of his search. She is a very simple girl but is quite bold when it comes to her attitude. Her way of life is simple and quite flawless. She is the younger of two sisters in her family and has taken up the responsibility of looking after the people in her family. She runs the daily errands and provides support to Suryakantham, her elder sister, and her brother. Sathya happens to come across Nandhini and shares his desire to get her married to his son.

Nandhini is open regarding her family’s condition with him. She clearly tells him that unless he agrees to help in sorting out her sister's future, she will be unable to think even about getting married. The story follows them as they try and sort out their family problems and finalize Nandhini and Sanjay’s marriage.
