The Filmfare Awards in 2007 were the 54th edition of the award function. Filmfare South is considered to be the Oscars of South India. There are many awards which are given out by different people for the Telugu Film Industry. But Filmfare is held in the highest regard over anybody else. Filmfare is also awarded for Hindi films and other regional language films too.

Dil Raju got the Filmfare Award for Best Film for the movie ‘Bommarillu’. Filmfare Award for Best Director went to Puri Jagannadh. The Golden Boy of Telugu cinema, Mahesh Babu won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie ‘Pokiri’. Filmfare Award for Best Actress went to Genelia DSouza for her role in the feature film Bommarillu. Sai Kumar received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for ‘Samanyudu’.

Meanwhile, ‘Sandhya’ won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Telugu movie ‘Annavaram’. Devi Sai Prasad was honored with the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for his work in the movie Bommarillu. S. P. Balasubramanian won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his song Adigo Badradri. This song was featured in the film ‘Ramadasa’.

Mamta Mohandas received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her song Rakhee Rakhee. Rakhee Rakhee was the title song of the film ‘Rakhi’. Veturi Sundarama Murthy was honored with the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist. There were a total of ten awards which were awarded to people for specifically being excellent in the Telugu Film Industry. The rest of the night was given to deliver awards for the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada Film Industry.

Actors and Actresses of the South Indian Film Industry gave dance performances on songs from their movies. There were jokes all around. Awards which were common to all Film Industries were also awarded, and people from Telugu Film Industry did manage to win a few of them.
