The Santosham Film Awards took for the year 2011 took place through a grand ceremony at the Novotel Hotel in Hyderabad. The award show which is done by the Santosham Magazine declared the winners from all four sections of South Indian Films for the year. Many eminent and well-known personalities from all the four South Indian Film industries were seen to be a part of the grand celebration. Some of them include Dr.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Ambarish, Dr.
Kamal Haasan, K Balachander, Nayantara,
Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rasool Pookutty, Tammareddy Bharadwaj,
Krishnam Raju, A Ramesh Prasad, Lakshmi Prasanna, Nandini Reddy, Urvashi Sarada, Tamannah, Madhurima, Jeeva, Taapsee, Trisha, Aadi,
Kodi Ramakrishna, R B Chowdhary, Dr. Brahmanandam,
Giri Babu, M S Narayana, R Narayan Murthy,
Babu Mohan. Apart from them, there were many other personalities from the four film industries who had attended the award ceremony. The show had a broad range of awards that were allocated.
The Life-Time Achievement Award was awarded to DR. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, K Balachander, Ambarish, Urvashi Sarada, Yedidha Nageswara Rao. The Allu Ramalingaiah Smaraka Award was handed over to Babu Mohan. C V Rajendran received the M V Sridharan Award. Trisha was named the Best Actress of the Decade while the Best Director of the Decade went to Puri Jagannadh. The Best Comedian of the Decade award went to Dr.Brahmanandam and Best Cinematographer of the Decade to Chota K Naidu.
The award for the Best Sound Designer of the Decade went to Rasool Pookutty. Ashok won the Best Art Director of the Decade. The Best Actor award was won by Balakrishna while the Best Actress by Nayantara for Sri Ramarajyam.Even the Best Film award went to
Yalamanchili Sai Babu for the film Sri Ramarajyam. Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna for the film Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu won the award for Best Villian. M S Narayana in Dookudu received the Best Comedian. Best Child Artist was conferred to Baby Any for Rajannah. P R K Raju for Sri Ramarajyam won the Best Cinematographer.
Best Script Writer was given to
Chinni Krishna for Badrinath. The award for the Best Dialogue Writer was given to
Kona Venkat for Dookudu. The Best Lyricist was Jonnavithula for the film Prem Rakshit won Sri Ramarajyam and the Best Choreographer award. M R Varma and Vijay from the movie Dookudu won awards for Best Editor and the Best Fight Master. The Best Message Oriented Film: was given to Jai Bolo Telangana. The Best Debut Director was Nandini Reddy for
Ala Modalaindi and the Best Debut Producer Ramesh Puppala Mirapakay. Aadi for Prema Kavali won the Best Debut, Hero.
Best Critic Actress award went to Tamannah for 100% Love. The award for Critics Best Actor went to Shivaji Raja for Virodhi. Taapsee won the Best Jury Award for the film
Mr Perfect. The Santosham Film Awards aired on the channel Maa Gold. It even saw a lot of participation and remarkable performances from many well-known faces of the South Indian film industry.
