Telugu Awards Santosham Awards 2009

Santosham Awards are held every year to felicitate hard-working artists in the arena of cinema and television business. In the year 2009, the ceremony took place in HICC. Several renowned faces made appearances on this show. Santosham Suresh brought forward this award ceremony on behalf of his magazine which runs by the same name. Many people received humongous applause for the kind of work they put forward. It is always overwhelming to see such people achieve what they deserve. It also inspires the youth to step up for themselves and attempt for achieving their dreams. In this function, Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala bagged the lifetime achievement award for their sincere dedication and sheer excellence over the years. This award stands as the most prestigious award of the ceremony.

The movie Jalsa beat its counterparts to win the title of the best film. Bala Krishna's act in Pandurangadu fetched him the best actor award. Illeana received the best actress award for her performance in Jalsa. For the same movie, Trivikram received the best director award, and Devi Sri Prasad won the title of the best music director. Sneha Ullal's debut in Ullasamga Utsahamga made her the best debut heroine. Sushant received the same award in the male category for Kalidasu. Gamyam made the best screenplay whereas Kona Venkat became the best dialogue writer for her contribution in ready. JD Chatravarthy's spine-chilling role in the movie Homam brought for him the best villain award. On the other hand, Brahamanandam received an award for his comical act in King. Chota K Naidu wore the crown of the best cinematographer for the film Kotha Bangaru Lokam.

King bagged the title of the most stylish film. Nenu Meeku Telusa was the most experimental film. The title of the best children film went to Ghatotraja. Rising to everyone's expectations, Ashta Chemma became the best entertaining film. Kotha Bangaru Lokam went on to become the best musical hit. Bommana brothers Chandana Sisters bagged the best comedy love story award. VR Pratap received the best family movie director award for the film Gorintaku. VV Vinayak obtained best commercial director award for Krishna. The reputed Allu Ramalingaiah Award went to Ali and the Soundarya Samarka award made its way to Sindhu Tolani for his amazing work in Batukamma. In the music arena, Baba Sehgal received the best male playback singer award for Jalsa. Geeta Madhuri received the same award in the female category for Nachavule. On the whole, the show was utterly entertaining.
