Nandi Awards 2007 is a segment of the annual award show available to watch on YouTube. The awards show was held in Vijaywada in the state of Andhra Pradesh on 12th January 2008. This award is the highest credit given for superiority in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre, and Telugu television. The name “Nandi” means “Bull,” and the award is named after the big granite bull at Lepakshi, which is a cultural and historical symbol of the Telugu community. Nandi awards are presented in four categories, which are gold, silver, bronze, and copper.

A jury of experts is appointed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, who evaluates the nominees in each category and selects the winners. The criteria for eligibility are many, and each nominee must fulfill the listed requirements. Nandi Awards were first given in the year 1964. They are sponsored by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and presented by Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh gives away the awards in the annual ceremony.

Some of the highlights of Nandi Awards 2007 include the award for Best Feature Film given to “Y Sonia Reddy” under the gold category, “Sekhar Kammula” under the silver category, and “Nallamalupu Srinivas” under the bronze category. The award for Best Leading Actor was bagged by Venkatesh for “AMAV” under the silver category, and the award for Best Leading Actress was bagged by Charmme for “Mantra” under the silver category. The award for Best Director went to Krishna Vamsi for “Chandamama” under the silver category.

Similarly, many other noticeable awards were given for different categories. This award show is a formal event with only the distribution ceremony, unlike other award shows which are filled with performances from the stars. Along with the trophies, cash prizes are also given out to the winners of the awards.
