The Penguins of Madagascar is originally an American animated television show. It also aired in Tamil on the channel Chutti TV in India. The show has around nine characters from the animated film Madagascar which was a part of the Dream Works Animation. The main characters of the show are Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private all of who are penguins. Apart from that, King Julien, Mort, Mason, Phil, and Maurice are chimpanzees. There are also some new characters which are included recently to the latest series like Marlene, the otter and Alice, a zookeeper.

The story is basically related to adventure where the four main characters take up various adventures in the form of missions which are more paramilitary in nature with the motive to protect their homes and other creatures in the Central Park Zoo. On the way to fulfill their missions and completing their adventures, they have to face various obstacles which they need to overcome. These troubles are usually caused by King Julien, Mort, and Maurice. The characters that are designed in the serial are very different from the ones that are portrayed in the film.

Skipper, who is voiced by Tom McGrath is the leader of the penguins. He is the one who gives orders and devices tactics. Such is his experience that he can prepare for any situation no matter how bizarre it is. Rico is the one who is the expert in explosives and weapons. He is voiced by John DiMaggio. Then there is Kowalski who makes numerous inventions and is the gadgeteer of the group and is voiced by Jeff Bennett. Lastly, there is Private who is the one who is the most emotionally sensitive in the group. He tends to solutions that are simpler and more reasonable as he is younger.

Private is voiced by James Patrick Stuart. The Penguins of Madagascar is directed by Bret Haaland and Nick Filippi. There have been a total of three seasons and 149 episodes. The show has recorded very high and positive reviews from the side of the audience. It is telecast at 1 pm on Thursdays on the channel Chutti TV in Tamil in India.
