Vikramadityan Vedaalam is a Hindi-dubbed Tamil TV show that airs on the channel Colors Tamil. He >> Read More... respectively. This fictional story is adapted from the book ‘Betaal Pachisi’ written by an 11 th -century poet Somdev Bhatt. Vikramadityan is a great King who ruled over the Ujjain Kingdom. He finds a ruby in the fruits given by a beggar and decides to meet him. The beggar asks to meet him under a banyan tree in a cremation ground on a particular day. When the King meets him, he offers to tell the secret only if the King does something for him in return. He asks the King to bring the corpse of Vedaal, which will be hanging on an old tree in the far corner of the cremation ground. The King agrees to it. He reaches the top of the tree and carries the corpse on his shoulder.

The spirit inside Vedaal speaks with Vikramadityan and agrees to go with him voluntarily if he listens to his stories without uttering a word. The King agrees to it. Vedaal would narrate the story and ask the King a question at the end. Vikramadityan would answer the question, thus breaking the vow of silence. Vedaal narrates a total of 25 stories. They are; how the prince obtained a wife, three young Brahmans, King and two wise birds, Adventures of Viravara, Somaprabha and three suitors, Lady and the changed heads, King’s dependent and the nereid, Three fastidious men, Anangarati and four suitors, Madanasena’s rash promise, Three very sensitive wives, Kind Yasakethu and his wife, Hariswamin and his bad luck, Merchant’s daughter and thief, Magic pill, Sacrifice of Jimutavahana, Beautiful Unmadhini, Brahman’s son and magic power, The thief’s son, Brahman boy’s sacrifice, Anangamanjari and Kamalakara, Four brothers and the lion, Hermit who wept and danced, How four merchant princes faired with the courtesan, How Muladeva obtained the bride for Sasideva, The ogre who ravaged King Arimaulimani’s Kingdom, Father and son marry mother and daughter.

The King couldn’t answer the last question. Then Vedaal reveals the intention behind the beggar’s request. The beggar intends to kill Vikramadityan to gain immense power to rule the world. Despite that, Vikramadityan takes Vedaal to the beggar, but he’s prepared for the worst. When the beggar tries to kill the King, he fights back and defeats him.
