Suryaputhri is a women based drama TV show that came on Kalaignar TV. The serial is a Tamil one that came on between Monday and Thursday in the time slot of 10 PM. The timings for the show got later shifted over to the time slots of 12:30 PM and 9:30 PM.The program got premiered on Indian TV screens on 5th March 2012. It got counted amidst one of the best series to get telecast on the channel and received immense acclaim from fans and critics alike. This popularity helped it extend to over four hundred episodes over a two year period.

The finale for the series got aired on 19th June 2014. The show saw some fine acting from the leading pair ofKuttyPadmini and Nizhalgal Ravi. They both played their roles with finesse and put forth some very believable performances. These two got aided by the brilliant acting shown by their supporting cast consisting of renowned like Santhoshi, Lavanya, and Rajkumar. The serial got created by the house of Vaishnavi Media Works Ltd., who have delivered other fan favorites in the past. The show got directed by the talented Tamizh Bharati, who has made a name for himself in the industry with similar ventures in the past. He got assisted byKeerthana as the show’s creative director.

She has however performed in other Telugu as well as Malayalam language ventures as well.She kicked off her career as a child artist the movie Ambala Anjulam that got released in the year of 1959. She was merely three years old at that point if time. Since then she has acted in numerous movies as a child artist and made a dominant name for herself. She rose to fame following her role in the famous movie titled Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum, which released in the year of 1965.

She took up a double role for the movie and got seen alongside the veterans Jaishankar and Jamuna. She also came on screen opposite the inimitable Kamal Haasan in a dance sequence for the movie Maanavan released in the year of 1970. She has since appeared on-screen opposite other stalwarts such as Rajinikanth himself. She went on to establish her production house in the early part of the 2000s.
