Tamil TV Serials Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam

Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam is a Tamil devotional serial which is telecasted daily. Vishnu Sahasranamam is found in the epic mythological tale of Mahabharat. The show means a thousand names of Vishnu. It is known that Vishnu had eleven incarnations, and he is called by many names across India. His various names are found in the chapters of Mahabharat, Anushasanika Parvam.

Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam is a special serial which is made for the devotees of Lord Vishnu, where they will be chanting his thousand names all the time. It is not only about chanting Lord Vishnu’s name. It is about the lesson Mahabharat teaches us, which is taught to us by this show. It talks about the battles where bad won over good, and where good won over bad, how people showed mercy which changed the landscape of our world. It talks about the importance of the characters in Mahabharat, how each one of them had a role to play, and without them, the story wouldn't be like it is now.

During one of the battles, Bheeshma Pitamha was badly wounded after he had lost the fight to Arjun. But he knew which battles to fight. Pitamha knew that he was going to die, but he did not want to die at this moment. He waited for his death. He wanted to die in Uttarayana, and it was there where he was laid down. He had waited for the auspicious moment because he knew that his deeds deserved it. Meanwhile, the war was not slowing down. Almost all the male members had succumbed to death.

Other than the Pandavas and the unborn child of Abhimanyu, everyone was dead, and it seems like there will be no light in the end. Somehow, they manged to win the war, and Yudhistra was hailed as the new King. It describes over a thousand aspects of the God. The saints of the olden times felt it to be unnecessary for the devotee to be describing those aspects all the time.

It led them to search for a clearer meaning, giving it a clear meaning which will be understood by everybody. It was meant to do so because it will help the devotee to sing while meditating only on one God. Right now many translations are available of this script. The Tamil translation is the one which is narrated in this show.
