Raja Rani was a super hit series telecast on Vijay TV from 2017 to 2019. Global Villagers produced the serial, which was directed by Praveen Bennet. The serial has Alya Manasa and Sanjeev in the lead roles. After this serial, they both tied the knots. Following the success of Raja Rani, the team has decided to go for the second season in 2020. The first season is inspired by a Bengali TV Series, Ke Apon Ke Por. The second season is based on the hit Hindi serial, Diya Aur Baati Hum. Although the Hindi series was dubbed in Tamil as En Kanavan En Thozhan and aired on the same channel, the makers have decided to go for the direct Tamil version. The second season has “Sindhuran,” aka Sidhu as the lead actor. Alya Mansa is retained to play the leading lady.
“Praveena,” the popular Malayalam heroine, who impressed the Tamil audience with the Vijay TV serial, “Maharani” as Sandhya Madam, plays Sidhu’s mother in the series. She had already played in a couple of Sun TV serials, “Priyamanaval” and “Magarasi.” Praveena’s comeback to Vijay TV is a treat to her fans. Besides these stars, the series also has Sreenidhi Sudharshan and Pasanga Sivakumar in important roles. Like the first season, Praveen directs the series and Global Villagers bankrolls it.
