Tamil Tv Serial Muhurtham

Muhurtham is a Tamil language TV serial that aired on the channel Sun TV, from the Sun Network. The serial premiered on television from the year 2005 to 2006. It was about the lives of two people, Kathir and Bharathi, who lived similar lives. It is commonly said that there exist seven people in the world who look alike. If that were true, we would’ve known about it already, especially with the worldwide availability of the internet. What they probably mean by people looking alike is that there are several people who live similar lives, something like parallel lives. When we hear someone else’s story, and we think of one incident that matches ours, we that we have so much in common. There are actually people who have so much in common and lead similar lives and go through similar experiences.

This serial is the story of two such people. Kathir comes from a middle-class family and lives with his parents. He has three sisters who are not-so-happily married. He is the kind of person who is just there for everyone. He likes to take up the responsibilities of his friends and family and considers their troubles as his own. If someone has a problem, he is the first person to show up and stay until he solved it. This behaviour of his is often taken advantage of by some people. Bharathi is a woman who lost her father and lives with her mother and younger sister. She has two elder sisters who are married, again, not-so-happily. Whenever she wants to share her happiness with her elder sisters, the fact that their life is messed up obstructs her.

Her principles go in line with that of Kathir. When the elders arrange a marriage for the both of them, it is like seeing two similar souls get married. The problem with having too much in common is that if one person has an ego problem, the other person has it too. Before they could even get engaged, they face a difference of opinion, and angry words get exchanged. The fight escalated quickly, and the wedding had been called off. They went their separate ways and started focussing on their families. One day, Kathir saw his first sister’s wedding album, and he was happy to see all the relatives having fun. He moved on to his second sister’s wedding album and found a few of the relatives missing. He then went through his third sister’s wedding album and noticed that his first sister didn’t attend the wedding and found out that it was because they had a few differences.

The thought of his close relatives and sisters not attending his wedding didn’t sit well with him. He decided not to get married unless all his near ones attended his wedding. Later, he found out that Bharathi is a woman with similar beliefs and principles, and they rearranged the wedding. Meanwhile, they both worked to settle the differences between Kathir’s sisters. After they succeed in doing so, both of them get married.
