Ethuvum Nadakkum was aired in Sun Tv and it was a part of the
serial story.The serial was directed by Nagu and C.J.Bhaskar. The serial in a way explored the ancient practice of Varmakalai.
The story was based on the stories written by Indira Soundarajan,who is famous for his thriller and ghost stories with innumerable mysteries.The music was done by Rajesh Vaidhya with background music rendered by K.B.Raja. The graphic works were done excellently.The serial was produced by Kailasam and Geetha Kailasam for K.Balachander’s Min bimbangal, from Kavithalaya productions.

Thanumalayakkudi was a small tribal settlement, situated in thick forest jungles, in the interior south India. The tribal people were bound by their own strict inter-clan codes and beliefs. They do not accept money in exchange for their products made by them, which were mainly honey and fruits. Within that tribal settlement, existed a myth that the Kalpavriksham, the celestial tree which had the ability to fulfill all the grants and wishes and desires of the people standing underneath it, was there somewhere in the forest. Strangers to the area who go in search of this tree were always lost in the forest. Sivagurunathan, a divisional forest officer and his brother Natarajan, a wildlife filmmaker and a visiting lecturer of the film and TV institute came to the forest. Witnesses to the miracles and mysteries of the forest, they were also lost in the jungle in pursuit of the Kalpavriksham. The tribals believed that they were killed in the pursuit of that tree which was considered sacred and precious. Then came Siddharth, a student of Natarajan and an aspiring filmmaker with Varsha a sound recordist, with him, to make a film on the forest and its wildlife. They after knowing about the mysteries of the place,understand that there were many mysteries in the death of Sivagurunathan and Natarajan.The rest of the story was bout their solving the mysteries.

Marmadesam was an extremely successful Mystery and Spiritual based serial. Marmadhesam Part I, when aired was the top ranked serial as per the count of people watched the serial among the television shows relayed based from Chennai in 1998. Raghasiyam in English is “The Secret” directed by Naga explained about the discovery of the mysterious healing Navapaashana lingam, and records all the mishaps when a team tries to smuggle the Navapaashana lingam. Vidathu Karuppu in English is “Karuppu Never leaves” (Karuppu means Black, but in this sense it is a name of the God of Security)” again directed by Naga’s plotting the Hindu village deity Karuppusami’s power and history. Swarna Raeghai in English is “Golden Finger Prints” directed by C.J.Bhaskar’s explains the ideology of palmistry followed by legends of Chidambaram for centuries. Iyandhira Paravai in English means “Mechanical Bird” again directed by C.J.Bhaskar’s direction showcases the secrets and uses of Varmakalai (kind of ancient martial arts found during Tamil ancestors). Yedhuvum Nadakkum in English is “Anything can happen” director back by Naga again, solves the mystery around the Mythological tree Kalpakavriksham (A living tree that grants and satisfies everyone’s wishes similar to the Sacred Tree shown in Avatar movie) and its environment. Being every part is about solving some kind of mysteries and deals with the sacred and spiritual values, this is still ranked among all times best.

Eduvum Nadakkum is a part of the most famous television series that was created by Minbimbangal. The whole series acquired the name, ‘Marmadesam’. It means ‘Land of Mystery’ in English language. Naga has taken up the direction part of this series. The legendary director, K.Balachander is the person who produced this series.
The genre adopted by this series was soap opera. The broadcast of this series was started from the year 1997 which ran until 2001. Each episode was telecasted for a period of 30 minutes. This series was seen in two channels: Sun TV and Raj TV. The whole series was very a great success and has been rated with first rank by the viewers during 1998.
There were two predecessors for Eduvum Nadakkum. The first part was named as ‘Ragasiyam’. And, the second part was named as ‘Vidathu Karuppu’. Edhuvum Nadakkum which is the third part of the whole series captured about ‘Varmakalai’.
The cast team of this series included the famous actors like Mohan Vaidya and Poovilangu Mohan. Devadharshini, the famous television actress took up the lead role in this series. The other actors in this series were Sureshwar, Sadhasivam, Subhalekha Sudhakar, TKS Chandiran, Vijayasarathy and Ponvannan. Though this series was an absorbing one, it was stopped prematurely due to the deficit of support from producers.
