Shailaja is an independent lady who has a cupcake business. She is also a tutor who tutors children at their home. Shailaja is a 38-year-old unmarried woman. Her mother is concerned about her. Her mother, Krishnaveni, usually finds out several prospects for her daughter. But Shailaja has big dreams about her husband.

She wants them to be perfect and according to her liking. She has rejected many prospects. But time kept on ticking. On her 38th birthday, she had a weird dream where a mysterious man appeared and mentioned her marriage. Shailaja woke up thinking that this year was going to be different and that she might meet her groom. Shailaja believes it is a lucky day as it is her birthday. On her way to delivery, she dashes into a thief running away after stealing Siddharth’s wallet. Shailaja’s cakes spill on the ground and she blames Siddharth for it. She takes all the money from his wallet as compensation for her loss. Siddhart gets angry at her. Later, Shailaja goes to Raveena’s house to tutor and finds Siddharth there. He turned out to be Raveena’s uncle. He and Shailaja exchange bad words. Shailaja. She meets a slightly older man, Gunasekharan, in the same house.

Shailja found him handsome. Gunasingham finds her interesting and compliments her to impress her. Shailja finds it beautiful. Shailaja’s mother works at a nursery. Her boss, Dev, is single, and she tries to provoke him to go out with Shailaja. Shailaja reluctantly agrees. Raveena likes Shailaja and tricks her into going for lunch with Siddharth. There, the two talk and seem to find many common things between them. Shailaja later meets a mystic reader and asks her how to identify her true love. To this, the reader replies that a lion symbol will guide her. Linga, a friend of hers, loves troubling her. Dev has fallen in love and expresses his feelings to Shailaja but she is torn between her heart and head. Meanwhile, Guna has been trying to trap her in a money scandal that he created at Raveena’s parent’s company. Siddharth starts liking her as well. But Shailaja is dissatisfied and is looking for someone related to the lion. She assumes Guna to be her true love but her dreams are shattered after his plans are revealed.

Linga also develops feelings for her. Shailaja discovers a lion symbol at Dev’s home and believes he is the one. However, it seems that she is confused with her decision, and only the lion symbol motivates her. He knows that she loves Siddharth. Dev, Linga, Guna, and Siddharth plan an act together to bring Shailaja and Siddharth together. The plan works and Siddharth finally proposes to her and also asks forgiveness for his mistakes. Shailaja realizes that she does not need the lion symbol as proof of her lover. In the end, it is revealed that destiny had planned for them to be together since the beginning. It was their wrong decisions that delayed their meeting.
