The man’s spirit remained on the earth, confined to a tree. Nayanatara is reborn as Nithyashree. The evil spirit’s sister, Shanmugha, who is now an old woman, performs a ritual to destroy him, but it backfires, and the spirit escapes. Nithya, her mother, and her father live in a rented house, and her father works for the landlord. Tarun is the landlord’s son, and Nithya’s father orders her to stay away from him. Despite his warnings, Nithya and Tarun become friends after he helped her on multiple occasions.

Tarun’s father, Arumugham, has a sister by the name Mridula. Mridula’s daughter, Deepika, wants to get married to Tarun, so she manipulates his beloved sister Ragini to be her friend. Day by day, Tarun and Nithya develop feelings for each other. Raghuvaran’s spirit possesses Ragini and tells Tarun to marry Deepika. When he refuses, the spirit possesses Deepika and threatens to jump off the terrace. With no option left, Tarun and Nithya decide that it is best for everyone if Tarun gets married to Deepika. Until the day of the engagement, Mridula and Deepika do everything they can to insult Nithya. Shortly before the engagement, Raghuvaran’s spirit possesses a bird and pushes Tarun into the underground sewage. Deepika files a complaint to the police that Nithya kidnapped him. After rigorous prayers to goddess Amman, Nithya finds Tarun.

Tarun’s mother realizes that Nithya is the perfect woman for Tarun and goes to her parents to make a proposal. Nithya’s father, Kodi, declines the proposal even though he knows about Nithya’s love. He tells Nithya that the astrologer told him about her past life, that Raghuvaran has loved her since then, and that she has a ‘mangalya dosha’ according to which the man she gets married to will die. As Nithya tries to run away alone, Raghuvaran disguises as an old man and kidnaps her. Tarun saves her, and she tells him about the astrology. The remedy for that is for Nithya to get married to a tree, but Raghuvaran’s spirit possesses the tree. Even after that, Nithya and Tarun face many problems in their life. The spirit possesses Deepika and hurts Tarun very badly. Nithya saves him. Finally, they both make it to the wedding safely. Raghuvaran transforms Deepika’s body into that of Nithya and sends her to the wedding.
