Kadhala Kadhala is an India soap opera in the Tamil language that airs on the channel Star Vijay. Star Vijay is a regional channel owned by one of the biggest broadcasting networks in India, Star India Network. Kadhala Kadhala is the Tamil-dubbed version of a Hindi mega serial named Ishqbaaz which airs on the Hindi channel of Star India Network, Star Plus. The show airs on weekdays, from Monday to Friday at 10:00 p.m. IST. The show started airing on 5th June 2017 and is still in the running. It is one of the most popular prime-time shows watched in all over Tamil Nadu. Kadhala Kadhala is a drama soap opera with twists of romance and treachery in the story.

The story is about three brothers, Shivaay, Omkara and Rudra Singh Oberoi. They are the Oberoi brothers who live in a huge villa-like house called the Oberoi Mansion. Though they belong to the same family, the three brothers are absolutely of different natures from each other. Shivaay Singh Oberoi is the oldest brother. He is a rich businessman with a very bad temper. He has arrogance in his attitude and does not pay heed to anyone. Omkara Oberoi is an artist by profession.

He is a very subtle character who is always passionate about things and is always deep into his thoughts. Rudra Singh Oberoi is the youngest of the three brothers. He is a young boy with a carefree attitude towards life. He is fun-loving and enjoys life to the fullest. Despite the contrast in the natures of these three brothers, they are extremely connected to each other and share the perfect brotherly love and bond. Shivaay is constantly confronted with a girl named Anika, who is a simple middle class girl. Both of them don’t like each other, yet somehow they end up crossing paths with each other. Shivaay and Anika finally end up getting married to each other. Tia is a rich girl who claims to love Shivaay and plans of getting married to him and is more lured by his riches than love.

Omkara and Rudra are sons of Tej Singh Oberoi, elder son of Kalyani Oberoi, head of the family and Shivaay is son of Shakti Oberoi, younger son of Kalyani. The story revolves around these three brothers and their unbreakable bond. These three suffer from the same issues of a dysfunctional family. How their live moulds around these issues and what other challenges their bond faces and how they overcome it to keep their unity is what the plot of the story talks about. The show has a great array of actors who play the characters with much conviction.

The story takes an intriguing turn when Shivaay meets Annika. They both argue with each other on the road. Shivaay decides to marry Tia Kapoor. Annika gets hired as the wedding planner for Shivaay’s wedding. Over time, Anika and Shivaay cross paths several times, which leads to infatuation for each other. On the wedding day of Tia and Shivaay, Tia runs away, and everyone learns that Tia is already married to Robbin. Anika marries Shivaay. After this, Omkara meets Ishana, who wants to marry him for his wealth, but Ishana gets exposed by the brothers. Anika and Shivaay eventually fall in love. Shivaay fixes Priyanka’s marriage with a police officer, Ranveer, who wants revenge on Priyanka. Amidst this, Shivaay’s look-alike kidnaps him and takes his place. Anika, Om, and Rudra find the truth and save Shivaay. Then, they reveal the true motives of Ranveer and Kamini. Shivaay and Anika separate due to the devious plan of Shivaay’s mother. Meanwhile, Omkara marries Gauri. Bhavya is an undercover ACP who fakes a marriage with Rudra for her mission. This serial leaps for three months. Omkara is in a coma, and Shivaay becomes a cold-hearted person. The serial introduces Ragini, who has a crush on Shivaay. Ragini plans to marry Shivaay, and Shivaay’s mother helps her. Meanwhile, Omakara gets well and finds Annika. Annika returns to the mansion and claims it to be her property. Shivaay announces his engagement after Annika’s arrival. Annika introduces Vikram Thappar as her fiancé. Vikram unknowingly helps Annika. Shivaay exposes Ragini. Vikram does not let go Annika. Shivaay and his brothers handle the situation. After a truth revelation, Anika and Shivaay leave the mansion. Gauri and Om, Rudra and Bhavya get closer as a couple. Anika and Shivaay remarry each other. Shivaay gets missing. It turns out that Shivaay has lost his memories and considers Tanya as his wife. The family gets to know about Abhay Singh Oberoi. 

Later, everyone learns that Shivaay was acting. The relationship between Gauri and Omakara derails when he accuses her of cheating. Gauri leaves for her hometown. Rudra and Bhavya face misunderstandings in their relationship. Their egos stop them from confronting each other. Everyone helps Omkara to win Gauri’s heart. After everything clears out, Shivaay’s aunt and cousin create more problems in the lives of the Oberoi brothers. Abhay returns to the mansion with his wife, Swetlana. They both create more problems in their lives.
