A mega-hit serial, which was aired on the Sun TV during the morning hours, Bommalattam had successfully completed 475 episodes and was also dubbed in Telugu as ‘ Bommalata’ aired on Gemini TV. Directed by K.Shiva and produced by Vision Time India Pvt. Ltd , Bommalattam had lot of twist and turn of events . Title song was sung by Haricharan Seshadri. Bharathi (' Sreeja') who loved Madan (erstwhile Kathir-Absar) was to be married to Santhosh (Shreekumar) due to certain situations. To her dismay, Bharathi meets her past lover Madan who is now the husband of her sister-in-law Devi (Santosh’s sister- Preethi Sanjeev).

Meanwhile, Santosh and Devi’s father, Chidambaram ( Delhi Kumar) was being cheated upon by Chidambaram’s younger brother Nataraj (Sairam). Santosh manages to solve the problem without letting his father come to know about it. The story revolves around how Bharathi handles the difficult situations and ensures that her family life remains unaffected from them . Sreeja (as Bharathi)Sreeja, based in Bangalore, has acted in lot of Kannada Serials and was brought to Chennai, exclusively for the Serial “Bommalattam”.Sreeja will soon be tying the knot. Shree (as Santosh)Shree, son of the music director named Shankar, has been acting in lot of tele-serials.

He married his on-screen partner Shamitha, after they both fell in love during the shooting of “ Siva Sakthi”. Preethi Sanjeev (as Devi) Preethi Sanjeev, a popular television actress, has acted in a lot of tele-serials. She is married to her co-star actor Sanjeev, who is the nephew of the actress (late) Manjula Vijayakumar. She has also performed in a reality dance show. She has been performing quite a few negative roles as well.

“Bommalaattam” was a hit tele-serial which was telecasted on the Tamil channel, Sun TV. It had an interesting storyline of a girl who loved someone, but was forced to marry someone else. She thought she would lead a peaceful life, but her former lover came back to her as a member of her own family and this created a lot of confusions. How she handled this and succeeded in life was the story of “Bommalaattam”. It showed various characters and how each one affected the others in different ways. The girl, who entered the family by compulsion, slowly became the central character in that family.

This serial’s main star cast included Sreeja, Shreekumar, Absar, Preethi Sanjeev, Delhi Kumar and Vijay Krishnaraj. Story of this serial was written by Ezhichur Aravindhan. SAN Media limited had produced this serial. The screenplay was written by K. Vivek Sanka , while Thavamani Vaseegaran handled the dialogues. The cameras for this serial was handled by S. Sankar. This serial was directed by K. Shiva. The wonderful technical crew had given a great image to this serial and it had become a huge hit in Tamil Nadu as well as the neighboring states where it was dubbed into other languages.
