Annakodiyum Ainthu Pengalum is a Tamil television soap opera. The show used to be telecasted regularly on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday, at the 07:00 p.m. slot. The show began in the year 2015 with its first episode being aired on 23 February. The ending episode of the series was aired on 6 May 2016, and the total number of episodes that was telecasted till date is two hundred and five. Each episode runs for about twenty minutes and is produced under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films, by none other than T. T. G., Selvi Thiyagarayan, and Thiyagarayasaravanan.

The story of this serial is centered on a woman named Annakodi. The tale follows her and her four amiable daughters. The eldest one is named Gowri. She turns to be the protagonist of the story. Annakodi is married to Muthupandi, but she is his second wife. As a result, she and her daughters are always ill-treated by all. Although Muthupandi’s first wife always supports and comforts them, in the society, they are a piece of joke and mockery. Gauri, being the protagonist in the story, becomes a lawyer by profession. She eventually goes on to tackle every situation and mishap that is caused the family and gains a lot of respect in the society. All these happenings lead to the different plot points of the story that contribute towards the interesting phases of the story.

Gowri walks through this phase of her life with grinding her teeth and struggling every second to break free of the chains. During this time, her inspiration and one string of hope that pulls her up is Uma Maheswari. The biggest twist in the tale comes when Gauri ends up becoming Uma Maheswari’s daughter-in-law. While everything lies right, she learns that Uma Maheswari doesn’t want her to continue her profession. At this she becomes infuriated at herself as at some point in time, she was her role model.

Gowri decides to take the fight to her face and continue on her path of becoming the best lawyer in the city. Meanwhile, she faces a lot of criticism at her official field as well as her family. Even people from her maternal side asks her to quit and be a better daughter-in-law, but she stays adamant. Fighting against endless odds Gauri finally defeats her once role model and now mother-in-law, Uma Maheswari at her own place of worship and takes the reputation of the best lawyer in the entire city.
