The 62nd Filmfare Awards South was organised at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. It was held on 26th June 2015. The ceremony honours all the winners of the best South Indian films of 2014. It was hosted by VJ Ramya and produced by Britannia. The most nominated films were Kaaviyathalaivan (eleven, Tamil), Manam (ten, Telugu), Ulidhavaru Kandanthe (eight, Kannada). The most awards were bagged by Manam (five awards). The best film awards went to Mr. And Mrs. Ramachari (Kannada), Manam (Telugu), Kaththi (Tamil) and Munnariyippu (Malayalam).
This year, i.e., 2015, Tamanna Bhatia, Praneeta Subhash,
Taapsee Pannu and many other celebrities stars set the stage on fire. In the Kannada cinema awards for the best director, the best actor, the best actress, best-supporting actor, the best-supporting actress, the best music director, the best lyricist, best playback singer- male, best female playback singer went to Rakshith Shetty for Ulidhavaru Kandanthe, Yash for Mr. And Mrs. Ramachari, Swetha Srivastava for Fair and lovely,
Achyuth Kumar for Drishya, Samyuktha Hornad for Oggarane, Ajaneesh Loknath for Ulidhavaru Kandanthe, V.
Nagendra Prasad- “Kannalli” from Ambareesha,
Vijay Prakash- “Gatiya Ilidu” from Ulidhavaru Kandanthe and Anuradha Bhatt- “Chanchana Chanchana” from Ugramm respectively.
In the Malayalam cinema the awards for the best director, the best actor, the best actress, the best supporting actor, the best supporting actress, the best music director, the best lyricist, best playback singer- male, best female playback singer was bagged by

In the Tamil cinema, the best director, the best actor, the best actress, the best supporting actor, the best supporting actress, the best music director, the best lyricist, best playback singer- male, best female playback singer was awarded to A. R. Murugadoss for the film Kaththi, Dhanush for Velaiyilla Pattathari, Malavika Nair for Cuckoo, Bobby Simha for Jigarthanda, Riythvika for Madras, Anirudh Ravichander for the movie Velaiyilla Pattathari, Na. Muthukumar for “Azhagu” from Saivam,
Pradeep Kumar for “Aagayam Theepiditha” from Madras,
Uthara Unnikrishnan for “Aagayam Theepiditha” from Madras. Coming to the Telugu industry, the best director award was given to Vikram Kumar for Manam.
The best actor and actress was bagged by
Allu Arjun and Shruti Hassan for
Race Gurram. The best supporting actor and actress title for 2014 were given to Jagapathi Babu for Legend and
Lakshmi Manchu for Chandamama Kathalu. Best music director and lyricist went to Anoop Rubens for Manam and Chandrabose for "Kanipinchina Maa Ammake" from the picture Manam respectively. The best male playback singer was grabbed by Simha - "Cinema Choopista" from the movie Race Gurram.
The best female playback singer went to "Yem Sandeham Ledu" from the film
Oohalu Gusagusalade. Technical awards like Best Cinematographer for South went to P. S. Vinod (Manam) and best choreographer award to Sobhi for Kaththi. Special awards like the lifetime achievement award went to IV Sasi (director) and
Radhika Sarathkumar (actress). The best actor (Critics Award) was grabbed by Karthi for Madras and
Nivin Pauly for 1983. Dulquer Salman for
Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and Bellamkonda Sreenivas for
Alludu Seenu won the best male debut award. The best female debut award was handed over to Nikki Galrani for 1983 and
Catherine Tresa for Madras.
