The storyline of the Gauri serial revolves around a girl named Gauri. The story begins when a baby girl is alone in the village temple.

The head of the village takes the child and treats her as his kid. He nurtures and takes care of Gauri. She was happily living in her home when a woman told her a prophecy that danger was about to arrive in Gauri’s life. While recovering from this news, Rahul confesses her feelings for Gauri. Gauri accepts the proposal, and they fall in love with each other. During this time, a scene flashed where a woman was planning to harm Gauri by black magic.

One day, Gauri wakes up from a nightmare and requests her father to avoid going to the forest. But father still goes to the forest and gets attacked in the jungle. Someone comes to his rescue and saves Gauri’s father. They both are badly injured, and Gauri insists the man stay with them until he gets well. During this time, Rahul and his mother plan to meet Gauri and fix the wedding date. The man gets well and returns to his home. Gauri learns that the man she calls her father is not her father. She gets heartbroken but acts maturely.

Later, her father asks her to marry Pallava, to which Gauri agrees as a respect. Rahul and his mother get heartbroken after the news of Gauri’s wedding. Pallava’s family comes to Gauri’s village. When they meet Gauri, the tray falls from her hand, and everyone considers it a bad omen. The wedding takes place, and everything goes on smoothly. Gauri gives her father’s responsibility to Rahul. After the marriage, Gauri enters her new house and asks about a picture covered in black cloth.

She learns about Pallava’s first wife. Later, Pallava and his mother, Baishakhi, reveal the purpose of bringing Gauri into their house. During this, Gauri learns about the presence of ghosts inside the house. Baisakhi stops her from unveiling the picture and warns her to stay away. The story continues with how Gauri faces the challenges and learns the truth about the picture.
