The leading couple of this serial are Om and Arpita. They will be marrying each other. Even though they are perfect for each other, they have different concepts and expectations of their marriage. Arpita is an independent and working lady. She does not support traditional gender roles. Arpita strongly believes she will never quit her job after marriage as she loves her work life. Om is quite close to his family. Om has traditional views about marriage. Om’s family has orthodox opinions. They believe that a woman’s place is in the kitchen. Om believes in the concept of a housewife who devotes her time to her in-laws and manages a house. According to Om, Arpita cannot manage her family and home if she works. While they try to fit into their expectations about their married life, they find a way around it.

Om and Arpita decide that before they marry, they must commit to a deal. The deal would be that Om could never ask Arpita to quit her job for the sake of his family, and Arpita would have to ensure that her in-law’s big family remains intact. However, Om’s family dislikes that their daughter-in-law has a job. A working woman is totally against their values. Om’s grandmother being the oldest, resents Arpita for this. Her life becomes quite difficult to manage. She is often juggling between work and home. However, she finds ways to cheer up her family always. She decides to prove to her family that a woman can work and manage a household together. She is determined to change her family’s outlook.
