In the show singers of age, less than 18 years took part. The show had auditions in different cities of Kerala. In this initial stage, they selected 16 contestants based on these auditions. 8 male and 8 female participants were chosen in the initial round of auditions. After that real competition started. The show was hosted by a young female host. The initial episodes each singer had to sing songs in their regional language. These contestants were trained by the judges and mentored by them.
