Malayalam Tv Show Thakadhimi

Thakadhimi is a dance based reality show which came on the channel Asianet. The series is a Malayalam language one which came on every weekday between Monday and Friday in the slot of 8:30 PM. It was the first ever dance based reality show to feature on the Malayalam television circuit. It soon gained immense popularity and got viewed by a large part of the audience. The show premiered on Indian television on 13th October 2007. It got opened up for all participants who belonged to the age group of fifteen and thirty years old. Over ten thousand people showed interest and applied for the audition. These applicants belonged to not just India but cities across the globe. Amongst them, seventy candidates got shortlisted to perform in the next round.

Every aspirant got the opportunity to dance three times and based on this they were either selected or given a spot on the wait list. All of this got decided on the spot by the judges. Once the second round got over, the seventy contestants got reduced to thirty-six candidates. The entire series got hosted by the duo of AnoopShanker, who is a playback singer, and AishwaryaAjit. The judges inaugurated the show and set it underway. The participants got tested across a number of parameters including choreography, their expressions, as well as the artistic and technical aspects.

Different genres of dance get tested and performed. Classical, Semi-classical, rap, cinematic, Dance with a Star got introduced in order to test them to their limits. The finale of this show got aired on 22nd June 2008 after many grueling rounds which judged all the participants on every possible level to find the best of the best. The final showdown got presided over by Brinda master along with the three regular judges. The well-known actress Jayapura got invited as the chief guest for this show. She announced the final result and presented the prize to the winner.
