Nakshatra Deepangal is a reality show that aired on Kairali TV. In Malayalam, Nakshatra Deepangal means starlight. As the name indicates, the stars light the life of many needy people. This show features the group of 60 artists showcasing their talents like singing, acting, dancing, etc., The twelve groups consist of 60 artists, with each group containing five people. Among the five members in a group, voting for the selection of a team leader takes place, who guides the team to win the title. Nakshatra Deepangal is the first reality charity show in the history of the Indian television industry. Various artists from the Malayalam industry take part in the audition of this show. They get into the competition based on their performance in the demo. The shortlisted artists showcase their cultural performance and talents to the audience and the judges.

It also features the poor and needy people who do not have a common social life. One of those contestants is Rama and her family. Rama is an HIV positive patient. She passed her disease to her children Akshara and Ananthu, during her pregnancy, due to the lack of awareness about the HIV disease. Rama has three children. Fortunately, her elder daughter did not test positive for HIV. Classmates and neighbors of Akshara and Anathu ostracize them in the name of HIV. Akshara is too bold that she does not give up for their ill-treatment. Rama is spreading awareness among the Keralites about HIV. They are helped financially and mentally by the Nakshatra Deepangal team. The show has helped many poor and needy people and had lit their lamp of life.
