, Subba Lakshmi etc.  Suryakaladi is a gripping tale of wizards and vengeance, Surya Kaladi is the serialized dramatization of a celebrated myth, plucked from Kottarathil Sankunni's acclaimed classic, Ayithihyamala, a collection of century’s old folk lore and legends, folk tales and fables of Kerala. The serial depicts the stories dated back to the age and time of the feudal period in Kerala when there were kings and nobles, people believed in the presence of vampires, underground mysteries and when there were the famous Tantric Clan, the Bhattathitipadas- who performed tantric rituals and were the experts of such techniques. The story is based on the life events of such a practitioner Surya Kaladi Mana, who is said to have lived in the times of Parashurama, and was one of the six richest practitioners of the Tantra vidya. Surya Kaladi portrays a saga of fierce feuds that had passed down generations, treachery that shot its fatal arrows under the cover of superstition and implacable retribution that repays scores written in blood, painting a virtual landscape of emotions tinted with tense drama and terse suspense.
