Santhwanam is a Malayalam drama on Asianet that premiered on September 21, 2020. There is only one season and each episode was 20-22 minutes long. It also airs in Disney+ Hotstar. The show is about Krishnan and Lakshmi, who have four kids and run a grocery store named Krishna stores in their small town. Problems arise when Krishnan gets into financial difficulty because of Lakshmi's brother, and he kills himself.

After that, their eldest son, Balakrishnan, marries Devi, and she helps him look after his sick mother and three brothers. Devi's brothers-in-law always support her when she gets criticized by relatives. The decisions taken by the characters and their consequences form the crux of the story.

The story begins with Hari getting engaged to his childhood friend Anjali, even though he is in love with his college classmate Aparna. Anjali ends up marrying another man named Shivan, while Aparna and Hari get married. The other main character is Muralikrishnan (also called Kannan), the youngest son in the family, who loves his cousin Aishwarya. The primary focus is on the matriarch Devi and how she works to bring unity back to the joint family after the arrival of the new daughters-in-law, Anjali and Aparna. Hari and Aparna are blessed with a baby girl. Meanwhile, Shivan opens up a small tea stall, but it gets shut down by a man named Thambi. Kannan leaves to study in Chennai. Tragically, the family elder Lakshmi passes away during this time. The family faces severe financial struggles due to factors like Anjali and Shivan's failed furniture business venture and a fire that destroys the family store called Krishna Stores. However, a woman named Susan later visits and gives Anjali a cheque for thirty lakhs owed from one of her clients. This money helps resolve the monetary issues plaguing the family. Five years later, Hari and Aparna are running an advertising firm together. Shivan's tea stall called Ootupura has become very popular locally. Anjali handles the catering side of their now booming business. It is also revealed that Anjali is currently pregnant.
