Mythological serials have always had high TRP ratings due to their content and cast. People like to watch such shows which tell stories of ancient times and belong to an era where only Gods and demons existed. Unheard stories, unexplored places, and unbelievable tales have always gathered a lot of attention. Be it epic fables from Mahabharata or Ramayana; these legends create a high level of curiosity amongst readers, listeners and audiences even today.

The popular series Krishna Kripa Sagaram begins by showing the birth of Lord Krishna. Krishna’s parents, Devaki and Vasudeva, belong to the Chandravanshi clan. Devaki’s brother, Kansa, is told by fortune tellers that he will be killed by a child of Devaki. So he plans to kill Krishna. But, Vasudeva, after Krishna’s birth, secretly carries him on his head and exchanges him. Two other siblings of Krishna, Balarama and Subhadra also remain alive. Finally, Krishna is brought up by foster parents Nanda and Yashoda near Mathura.

Lord Krishna, along with his friends, becomes famous as ‘Makhan Chor’ for stealing butter from pots. In one of the episodes, he is shown troubling milkmaids (gopis) who are bathing in the river. As a young lad, Krishna was mischievous and also troublesome sometimes. In one of the episodes, he will be seen lifting Govardhana hill to safeguard the residents of Vrindavan from the wrath of rains and floods. After such miracles, people started worshipping Lord Krishna for his special powers. According to legends, Krishna is considered as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu and worshipped by people all over South India.

Another well–known episode with high ratings portrayed how Lord Krishna once killed a huge black serpent called Sheshnaag. Once a gigantic and powerful snake, with hundred heads, came to live in river Yamuna and frightened the people. The serpent also poisoned the water of the river. One day, while playing Lord Krishna taught a lesson to Sheshnaag by jumping into the river. All the people from the nearby places got frightened and gathered around the river as they thought the serpent might kill Krishna. Eventually, after a fierce fight between Krishna and serpent, Lord Krishna came out of the water and sat on Serpent’s head. Finally, Sheshnaag left the Yamuna after being defeated.
