Following the success of this serial, it is remade in Malayalam as Kanakanmani. Deva and Radhika are ideal husband and wife. They are married for 15 years, but they don’t have any children. Deva loves Radhika much, and she is the apple of his eye. Radhika longs to become a mother, and finally, her dream comes true, and she delivers a girl child, Meera. But, due to the complications in delivery, Radhika dies, and from that moment, Deva thinks that Meera killed Radhika and doesn’t care for her. Soon, he gets married to Yamuna. Yamuna is an ideal wife, and she takes care of Meera well. She never treats her as a stepdaughter. Even after having a daughter Preethi with Deva, she considers Meera as her elder daughter. Meera, too loves Yamuna much.

Even after years, Deva’s anger on Meera didn’t decrease, and he still considers her a bad omen. He never sees Meera while going out and never talks to her. Once, Deva arranges for a family photo, and Yamuna calls Meera to join them; Deva shouts at her, and Meera leaves the place. She yearns to get a place in her father’s heart. Although everyone in her house, including her grandmother and stepsister Preethi, love her, she waits for years to get her father’s affection. Gautham, a smart young man, falls in love with Meera. He showers love, and affection and Meera too love him. Will Dev accept their relationship? The story comes with a lot of twists and turns.
