Ramayan is an epic tale of the war between Dharma and Adharma. It is a tale of Lord Shree Ram Chandra and his wife, Mata Sita. At first, it was written in Vedic language, Sanskrit. Later it was translated in all major languages because of its popularity and faith of people in Lord Ram. Various tv serials, plays, and musicals were written and directed in different languages. The plot of Ramayana is so wide that almost every tv channel is trying to do something different based on Ramayana. Yaksha Ramayan is one of them.

Yaksha Ramayan is a unique creation of TV channel Namma TV. The show is broadcasted in Kannada. It is one of many ways to represent the tale of Ramayan in regional language so that people from rural areas also can know about the great tale of God Ram. It is a musical representation of the book Ramayana wand the series started in January 2017. It airs once a week for 20 to 25 minutes.

In the show, they tell different tales from Ramayan, including the tales that are less popular and not known by everyone. At first, a host introduces the person who is going to tell the story in the form of a song. He tells the reason and the person’s name who made the show possible. Sathish Patla starts telling the story of Ramayana by singing songs. He has a crew member who sings with him in sync.

In the show, he started by telling the story of why Lord Vishnu had to take birth as Lord Ram. He told about Ravan’s past life, who he was, why he was so evil, and other sorts of things. Then he told how Devi Sita was born and who she was in her past life. Patla started telling the tale, including the things that are only written in Kannada versions of Ramayan. Some of these stories are different from the Sanskrit version of Ramayan that is written by Tulsidas.

The show Yaksha Ramaya is one of the mediums to tell the tale of Ram and the devotion of Lord Hanuman towards Ram and the devotion of Lakshman, brother of Ram towards Ram and Sita.
