Maja with Sruja was a popular reality comedy show premiered on the Suvarna TV Channel. The show was primarily hosted by actor and producer ‘Srujan Lokesh’ and thus was named after him. The first episode of the show was telecasted on 3rd October 2010. The show would run for nearly an hour. The serial was directed by Vijaya Prasad, who is famous for his works such as “Silly Lalli” and “Sidlingu”. However, this was kept secret while the show was telecasted.

The show was an interactive, comedy show where actors would perform skits based on the happenings in the surroundings. He was assisted on the show by famous comedians ‘Mimicry Dayanand’ and ‘Arun Sagar’. Several Kannada celebrities also visited the show as guests to promote their movies and also to have a nice time on the show. At times, the cast of the show would also mimic some of the celebrities.

The show enjoyed huge popularity among the masses as well as among the Kannada Film Industry as all actors had a great time shooting for the show. All its actors too gained a huge fan base. Arun Sagar, one of the artists of the show later also went on to star in the controversial reality show “Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1” and was also declared the 1st runner-up.

The show was developed in order to entertain the audience and help them relax. The channel had decided to rope in Srujan Lokesh as the prime anchor because he had hosted many of the channel's shows before and thus they knew him and his work well. Before the launch of the show, Srujan Lokesh had said that he took up the show to entertain people and make fun of issues and problems which trouble the people of Karnataka so that they could see the situation in a lighter vein.

Due to this show, Srujan Lokesh won several awards including Best Anchor Award from Suvarna Channel and in the Most Popular category Best Anchor Award from Bigg Entertainment, both in the year 2011. The show was telecasted on weekends i.e., on Saturday and Sunday at 10 pm.

In spite of its popularity, the show came to an end in the year 2011. There were several rumors doing the rounds that the show might return for a second season. The host, Srujan Lokesh also hinted at the same. However, the rumors never materialized, and he got busy with his home productions.
