Aditya Hrudayam is a Hindu religious song or hymn used to worship the Sun. Valmiki wrote it in his book Ramayana. It contains thirty shlokas, which are grouped into six sections. The sections represent the following.
1)Agastya approaching Rama
2)Advantages of reciting Aditya Hrudayam
3)The personification of Sun as a supreme god
4)Mantras
5) Salutations to Sun
6)Results of chanting Aditya Hrudayam
Sage Agastya sung it to Lord Rama before he kills the evil Ravana. By this hymn, Agastya teaches Rama the way to worship the Sun to defeat his enemy Ravana. In Sanskrit, ‘Aditya' means Sun and 'Hrudayam' means heart. The benefits of reciting this shloka are to strengthen the mind and soul and increase the will power in the crisis. It also fortifies our Aura to attract more positive energy from the surrounding, which will automatically lead us to success.
