Zee Kannada broadcasted it. It used to come at 8 pm. Vaidehi Sethuram produced the show. Nammamma Sharadhe shows the life story of two girls, both named Sharadha. They both are completely different and do not know each other. One is from a metropolitan city, Bangalore, while the other one is from a small village, Chitrapura, in Sahyadri Ghats. They both are shown to be 32 years old. They are different in their personality and nature also.

The Metropolitan Sharadha is bold and modern, while the other Sharadha is a traditional girl. Beginning with the Sharadha of the small village, she is married to Harsha, who resides in Chitrapura. His parents, Harikrishna, and Anasuya are the pillars of their joint family. Harsha and his brother got married on the same day. Harsha married to Sharadha, while his brother, Santosh, married to Arundhathi. In their family, all the control lies in the hand on Anasuya instead of Harikrishna, who is the head of their family. Santosh and his wife both have a degree in BSC. Agriculture. Arundhathi is not like Sharadha and is an active lady who does not like to sit idle. She had an abortion earlier due to which she can never conceive again. She is in the constant grief of the same.

Sharadha has studied only till 9th Standard, and her husband, Harsha, works in a bank. They have a cute daughter, Sindhu, who is eight years old. Sharadha is pregnant again, but the twist comes when her family starts expecting a boy child. For some unknown reasons, they are completely against another girl child. Now, coming to metropolitan Sharadha, her nickname is Shari. She belongs to a rich family. Her family is of modern and progressive thinking. She has done B.Com. She lives with Rohit, her childhood friend. Her parents are against it, but she continues staying with him against their will.

After many years, she decides to have a child, but in the meantime, Rohit’s job is lost. They face a tough decision, whether to continue with the pregnancy or not. She starts her old job again to support both of them. The story deals with the questions like whether Shari will be able to continue her pregnancy or not? Another question is, whether Sharadha of Chitrapura, will have a boy child and what are the unknown reasons behind not having a girl child? The show deals with two completely different stories, but they are related in one way, i.e. the problems that women face. The show has an interesting concept with it which is fresh also.
