Divided is a Kannada reality television series. The show has been formatted as a game show and is derived from the British game show series of the same name. The game show gained huge popularity among the Kannada viewers and went on to considered as one of the most popular shows of Zee Kannada. The format of the show entails three complete strangers, who are asked to answer up to fifteen questions based on general knowledge and awareness. Each question sums up to some amount of money which is put in a communal pot.

The winner of the episode gets all the money that has been collected in the pot at the end. The game is distributed into five rounds. In round one, the players are asked five questions, and each of these questions carries a value of 3,000 pounds if answered correctly which moves to the pot. In this round, the highest earning potential becomes 15,000 pounds. In round two the players are asked four questions, and each of these questions carry a value of 7,500 pounds if answered correctly which moves to the pot. In this round, the highest earning potential becomes 30,000 pounds.

In round three the players are asked three questions, and each of these questions carries a value of 15,000 pounds if answered correctly which moves to the pot. In this round, the highest earning potential becomes 45,000 pounds. In round four the players are asked two questions, and each of these questions carries a value of 30,000 pounds if answered correctly which moves to the pot. In this round, the highest earning potential becomes 60,000 pounds.

In the last and the final round the players are asked one question which carries a value of 75,000 pounds if answered correctly which moves to the pot. All together the total highest earning potential becomes 225,000 pounds. All the questions that are asked are either in the format of arranging the answers in a sequential manner or multiple-choice from which one is correct. The game also has a timer which measures the time of hesitation. The time of hesitation is the time wasted in answering a particular question.

And each second of the time of hesitation deducts some amount of money for the particular question’s price value. The final amount is shared between the contestants upon putting forward their case by themselves on how much each of them should be paid.
