Tol Mol Ke Bol was a reality game show broadcasted on Zee TV during 1999-2000. It was one of the first game shows to be aired in India. The show was part of the heydays of Indian television – the 90’s. The show was one of the firsts that broke away from the quiz show format that was a staple on TV shows.

The show had contestants from all over the country, who contested among each other to win various merchandise as prizes. The Indian version often had kitchen appliances as prizes. In order to win the prizes, the contestants had to bid and get the closest guess for any merchandise. The format of the show was simple. The show chooses four people who initially compete amongst each other. They bid and guess the price of the displayed merchandise. The winner is the one who guesses the price the closest to the original amount but does not go over it. The winner wins the prize displayed and gets a chance to compete further.

The winner then participates in further rounds that are variations of the original game – called the pricing games. For every merchandise, if the participant guesses correctly in the pricing game, he wins it. Each episode features multiple pricing rounds with various members of the audience. After every pricing game, a new contestant is selected with the same format used initially. The show occasionally had a Showcase showdown between winners of different pricing games who try and win a large merchandise package.

Each participant in Showcase has an option to pass on or bid on the package in front of him. The contestant who bids the closest wins the package. Tol Mol Ke Bol did not have same prizes but in fact included travel packages, cars, etc at times. Along with the pricing games, the show often had fun with the participants. The hosts routinely involved the contestants in comedy segments of the show. Tol Mol Ke Bol had participants from different strata of society and gave them chance to win big prizes and change their life.
